first election sermon ever

                                                                   Judges 9:7-15
The men of Schechem gathered together to elect one of their own party named son of the King (Abimelech)
 Ruler, after the murder of local leaders some thirty in all. A priest named Jotham along other who are in the local townhall vs 6,49 gave a sermon which included a parable of an Olive Tree a symbol for an individual, his warning to the voters was if Abimelech was willing to destroy local government power by an act of tyranny expect him to go after personal liberty. Which he did and it was a woman who wounded him that finally freed them from tyranny.
