In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel
began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign. Sixteen years old was he
when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And
his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.
And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to
all that his father Amaziah had done; Save that the high places were not
removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places. ^2
kings 15:1-4 King James Version
Scribe, son of Amoz is described as a man of integrity both
in service to the crown and his private life. Holy Spirit was changing the
heart of Isaiah from a self-righteous man to be in service to God. Son of Amoz
early agrees with that the Lord God loves his people and as the Lion of Judah
would not allow them go into exile. Under his grace king Azariah we can worship
the birds, four footed beast and the creature that crawls on the ground, says
the Ecclesiastical priest. What of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Judah, asks
Isaiah? The Lion Judah as well, answers Teacher. Son of Amoz you has been
chosen to serve God the Father by being his prophet, whispers the Holy Spirit.
This occurs in the last year of the reign of king Uzziah.
