1 chronicles 21:14
So the Lord sent a pestilence in Israel, and there fell of
Israel seventy thousand men.
Civil magistrate, shepherd for a father born out of the seed
of woman. Woman’s desires were his and his hers’. A mighty man among those of
earth however what he wanted was to have an accurate account of LORD flock when
the time was not due. The magistrate appointed men from his house to do this
task. The man of God sought and audience with the magistrate dressed in black
and under the law must be seen at once. What have you wrought my lord
magistrate, asks the Prophet? None you golden tongue lamb, retorts the civil
magistrate. It is not the tenth year for this census you son of the goat
herder. The prophet continues, you have broken the covenant and God gives thee
a choice thrice seven year famine, three months in hands of other men, or fall
into the hands of the Lord. Not unto the hands of wicked men but upon the LORD
mercy. A pestilence was sent and 70,000 men died. National day mourning was
proclaimed for this act of disobedience.
Moral of the story: Any government that does not follow
God’s law brings death to all.
