Patriotism or idolatry

By Gman4326

I was looking up exodus 20:5 and thought maybe what if the word worship and serve are in fact interchangeable in this verse ‘you shall not worship them or serve them’ the word them is the key factor. But my hypothesis is merely conjecture unless I look it in the passage in the original language I went to bible-hub but it went nowhere not because the site is not useful the verse but I was looking the verb form of the word worship and serve so went to google translate and typed in the words separately and came out this לִסְגוֹד (avad) and תְפִלָה (Tefila) to make cross comparison I then went to my LXX on my galaxy one tablet and words used are Λατρεία (Latria), Douleo. Could these words be separate terms if that were the case then we would serve and honor other men last time I check this describes the word slavery against the law in the united states under the 13th amendment.  a Section 1 Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Section 2 Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation. Since I have established my case in regards to the veneration of our American troops espoused by both right and left progressives it is forbidden for us to honor them because by forcing Christians to observe this process is akin a slave owner making the slave bow to the them. There other side would say then don’t well this straw argument falls under the phrase patriotism. You are not a patriot unless you recognize the troops service for without them our country would no longer exist this is no more rationalizing a humanistic concept known as idolatry. Word of God can’t be mentioned but it is okay to make movies to honor One and the Three. You can so use the word of God but in what context since there is no legal construct to it today’s society. The term denoted in the verb to mean the supreme worship of the Creator. The Holy and undivided Trinity expect every man to pay homage to Him alone do so to mere creatures is an act of blasphemy.
