The Apostle Paul, while writing to the Members, Elders and
Deacons, of the local Church in Philippi. In the original tongue. Did something very special. (1)He took a fragment
of a well known hymn at that time.
Probably from Jerusalem and added it to the letter.
It is Who, existing in the form of God, did not
consider equality with God something to cling to,
but emptied Himself, taking the form a servant,
being made in human likeness. And being found in
appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient
to death ---- even death on a cross. Therefore God
exalted Him to the highest place, and gave Him the name
above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
