How art as a means to edify?

By Gman4326

Augustine of Hippo as well as many well intentioned Catholic scholar's for centuries saw marriage as utilitarian. Speculatively speaking this led them to see that what happens with a married couple as evil. This flew in the face of what Christ Jesus did in Cana and the LORD said to Jeremiah on knowing him. Before he was born. It took generations to go from troubadours telling tales of knights errand to King James to write a love poem to his wife. In regards to documentaries, I don't see it as a form adultery. Rather as an asethic instruction. When the reformers and the dispensationalist fundamentalists withdrew from secular life. For a time the Catholics in America filled the gap by airing Greatest Story Ever Told and the Ave Maria hour. Under Dobson Focus on the Family worked with porchlight and others to create audio dramas. Tyndale publisher's, and CBN (family Channel) with Zorro 1990 tv series. The current understanding of edification is to rigid for my taste. Edification needs to include scripted story telling. Let us recall the past as means to learn a lesson. For the Glory of the Most Holy and Undivided Trinity alone.
